Lilan Bowden is a Los Angeles based director and actor. She is most notable for her role as “Bex” on Disney Channel’s award-winning show Andi Mack, and has acted in comedies such as Murderville, It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia, Drunk History, Future Man, LOVE, Parks and Recreation, and many more. You can catch her currently on AppleTV's Shrinking. She is an official participant of the Disney/ABC DGE Director's Program 2022-2023, and directed her first TV multicam, Villains of Valley View (Disney Channel) in Feb 2023.

 

Lilan's directorial debut, the short Becoming Eddie was featured at over 14 Academy-qualifying festivals, and caught the attention of Sony Pictures Entertainment to develop the TV series (along with the writer Ed Lee and producer Joyce Liu-Countryman). She has directed commercial campaigns, Moonbug shows T-Rex Ranch and segments for Blippi on Youtube. She has also written, produced, and directed many shorts for Funny or Die solo and with her comedy partner, Wilder Smith.

Inspired by her own background, she loves bringing Asian American stories to the screen. She's also a trained comedy improv performer and performs live with the improv team Voltron AF (currently performing at UCB Franklin). Bonus: she's great at working with youth talent; kids seem to get her vibe!
